recQ

Unnamed Gene ID: 948318

Known also as: ECK3816; JW5855;

NCBI Gene ID: 948318
Species: Escherichia coli strain K-12 substr. MG1655

SSB binds to RecQ and stimulates DNA unwinding (Shereda, 2007). [More information is available at EcoGene: EG10833]. A component of the RecF recombinational pathway, RecQ is a helicase that functions in blocking illegitimate recombination, enhancing topoisomerase activity, initiating SOS signaling and clearing blocked replication forks. [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG10833].
