Poll

Protein FULL name:

DNA polymerase lambda [Mus musculus].

Poll (Mus musculus) is product of expression of Poll gene.

FUNCTION: Repair polymerase. Involved in base excision repair (BER) responsible for repair of lesions that give rise to abasic (AP) sites in DNA. Has both DNA polymerase and terminal transferase activities. Has a 5'-deoxyribose-5-phosphate lyase (dRP lyase) activity (By similarity).

CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Deoxynucleoside triphosphate + DNA(n) = diphosphate + DNA(n+1).

COFACTOR: Manganese (By similarity).

SUBUNIT: Binds PCNA (By similarity).

SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus (By similarity).

PTM: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR (By similarity).

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-X family.

SIMILARITY: Contains 1 BRCT domain.

NCBI GenPept GI number(s): 9910500
Species: Mus musculus
