Sem1p

Protein FULL name:

Component of the lid subcomplex of the regulatory subunit of the 26S proteasome; involved in mRNA export mediated by the TREX-2 complex (Sac3p-Thp1p); ortholog of human DSS1

Sem1p (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is product of expression of SEM1 gene.

FUNCTION: Subunit of the 26S proteasome which plays a role in ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis.

SUBUNIT: Part of the 26S proteasome.

INTERACTION: P38348:HSM3; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-31337, EBI-21152; P22141:PRE1; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-31337, EBI-13988; P09938:RNR2; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-31337, EBI-15240; P33299:RPT1; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-31337, EBI-13910;

MISCELLANEOUS: Present with 5590 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium.

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the DSS1/SEM1 family.
