Rad54p (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is product of expression of
    RAD54
    gene.

  Rad54p is involved in:

       HRR in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

FUNCTION: Involved in DNA repair and mitotic recombination.
Functions in the recombinational DNA repair (RAD52) pathway.
Dissociates RAD51 from nucleoprotein filaments formed on dsDNA.
Could be involved in the turnover of RAD51 protein-dsDNA
filaments. Addition of RAD54 overcomes inhibition of DNA strand
exchange by RAD51 bound to substrate dsDNA. Species preference in
the RAD51 dissociation and DNA strand exchange assays underlines
the importance of specific RAD54-RAD51 interactions. RAD51 is
unable to release dsDNA upon ATP hydrolysis, leaving it stuck on
the heteroduplex DNA product after DNA strand exchange.

   SUBUNIT: Interacts with RAD51.

   INTERACTION:
      P36156:ECM4; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-14728, EBI-2042717;

   SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus.

INDUCTION: Expression increases in late G1 phase compared to other
      phases of the cell cycle.

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the SNF2/RAD54 helicase family.

SIMILARITY: Contains 1 helicase ATP-binding domain.

SIMILARITY: Contains 1 helicase C-terminal domain.
