Rad57p

Protein FULL name:

Protein that stimulates strand exchange by stabilizing the binding of Rad51p to single-stranded DNA; involved in the recombinational repair of double-strand breaks in DNA during vegetative growth and meiosis; forms heterodimer with Rad55p

Rad57p (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is product of expression of RAD57 gene.

Keywords:

FUNCTION: Participates in the repair of X-ray-induced damage to DNA and in meiosis. It may act in part by stabilizing a repair complex of other RAD genes.

INTERACTION: Q06032:CST9; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-14744, EBI-30044; P36156:ECM4; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-14744, EBI-2042717; P38953:RAD55; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-14744, EBI-14737; P38850:RTT107; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-14744, EBI-24788;

SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus (Potential).

MISCELLANEOUS: Present with 238 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium.

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the recA family.
