HelD

Protein FULL name:

helicase IV [Escherichia coli].

HelD (Escherichia coli strain K-12 substr. MG1655) is product of expression of helD gene.

FUNCTION: Helicase IV catalyzes the unwinding of duplex DNA in the 3' to 5' direction with respect to the bound single strand in a reaction that is dependent upon the hydrolysis of ATP.

CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: ATP + H(2)O = ADP + phosphate.

INTERACTION: P37095:pepB; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-551473, EBI-549539; P0A6N1:tufA; NbExp=1; IntAct=EBI-551473, EBI-301077;

SIMILARITY: Belongs to the helicase family. UvrD subfamily.

SIMILARITY: Contains 1 uvrD-like helicase ATP-binding domain.

NCBI GenPept GI number(s): 146328
Species: Escherichia coli
